Lap Desk

Beautiful old lap desk. The original writing surface has been replaced with red leather. 4 compartments at the front, one with a removable lid. Larger compartments under the writing surface. Velvet Gown with Two Bodices, Headpiece!

This gown is made from old cotton drapery velvet in plum and forest green. Bodice one is 17th century, with white lace, green embossed velvet stomacher w/ faux pearl beaded appliqué, and antique silver trim. It has plastic boning and a push-up pad.

Bodice two is 16th cent, with vintage gold braid trim. No boning, you will need a foundation garment like a corset. Sleeves puffs have net for stiffening, but are unlined (I didn't have time to finish it before I wore it!)

Both bodices tie to the skirt with gold-tipped ties, and both lace up the back.

The headpiece is for 16th century, sits easily on the head, with a metallic gold bag for your hair. Click thumbnail for more pics.

Pair of Milk Glass Vanity Jars

These lovely little jars are in perfect condition. The short one is 2 1/4" across, 1 1/4" high; the taller one is 2" across, and 2" high. The lids do not screw on, they just set on. Inside the lid of the short one is embossed: "Dr J Parker Pray Established 1868 New York"

Ruby Glass Inkwell and Pen

19th Century Opium Bottles

Vintage Horsehair Shoe Brush

Plains Indian White Buckskin Moccasins

Soft and supple but thick and sturdy buckskin with hand beadwork. I have used cardboard inserts to make them stand up for the picture. Soles are two layers of stiffer cowhide.
